Axel Springer subsidiary AuFeminin Group has acquired Livingly Media, the latter reported today. Livingly, which operates websites popular with women in the US – Zimbio.com, Stylebistro.com, and Lonny.com – represents a big opportunity for AuFeminin group, which sees 33 Million visitors across 17 markets, including the United States, with themes ranging from health & fitness to fashion & lifestyle.
Since its acquisition by Axel Springer in 2007, AuFeminin has steadily grown to become a worldwide powerhouse for women-oriented media. In 2013, the company acquired MyLittleParis, strengthening its hold over mobile users in France. As a media, AuFeminin consolidates multiple properties – a combinations of internationalizations of its historic AuFeminin.com website and local market leaders – in order to provide the undisputed best way for brands to connect with women, a difficult & valuable target market.
Increasingly, through casual gaming and social networks like Pinterest, women have become majority users in many of the top online properties, raising discussions about the absence of women on the boards of companies whose primary market is women. Aufeminin Group CEO Marie-Laure Sauty de Chalon has become a strong leader in the French Tech community, both to Women & to Men, representing one of the fastest growing media properties in Europe.
