13 French startups pitched a 20-minutes presentation to key investors and professionals from Europe, the U.S. and Asia, representing €10 billion worth of investment capital.
The European Tech Tour Association held its French & Benelux Tech Tour last week, which featured 13 French startups out of a total group of 25. Several local Tours take place every year and in this year’s French & Benelux version, 25 developing startups from France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg presented their companies to key investors and professionals from Europe, the U.S. and Asia, representing €10 billion worth of investment capital. The startups presented their company and business plan in a 20-minute presentation that allowed them to raise awareness and (hopefully) “around €100 million in funds for the next 3 years”, according to François Lainée, co-President of Tech Tour.
These 25 high-tech companies –chosen from among 200+ candidates– are at different stages of development, from seed to mature, and represent various technology sectors in information technology (software, internet, cloud, networking, infrastructure), medical and green technologies.
Among the startups in the group were Captain Dash (launched in 2010), a marketing tool that allows easy access and synchronization of marketing information, Qapa (launched in 2011), a job search website where companies pay per candidate instead of per posting, Sculpteo (launched in 2011), an online 3D printing service, and Limonetik (launched in 2009), an online payment platform. Other French start-ups showcased in previous tours include Viadeo, Spartoo, Criteo, Inside Contactless, Qosmos, Sofialys,Tinubu Square and Total Immersion.
The European Tech Tour Association (ETT) was founded in Geneva in 1998 in response to the growing interest in emerging technology companies in various European regions. ETT is an independent, not-for-profit organisation composed of key contributors to the high technology industry. The association’s objective is to raise awareness of the startup ecosystem of European countries beyond each country’s borders.
