Game Paris 2012 coming up Nov 23-30

Game Connection Europe is coming to Paris November 28-30. This event in itself is a reason to drop by, with its 3 days of conferences and sessions with industry experts, as well as awards competition for game developers (here) and marketers (here). It is also part of Game Paris 2012 (FR), a fashion week for games if you will, where there will be something for everyone.
The week will kick off with Paris Game Talents, a collaborative effort to get more people in the video games carreers. Professionals will meet students and their teachers, and explain what exactly are the trades in the video game industry.
The GAME PARIS Awards will feature French games released this year, with categories ranging from console to social and mobile. Its international jury will look at a number of criteria, including their “French Touch”. The award ceremony will take place at an evening bash that will be the official party of the week.
These events are organized and supported by the industrial cluster Capital Games and the Regional Council for the Paris area. The regional economic development agency will be supporting more specifically the Game Paris Business Tour, which should logically be about bringing in international industry buyers to meet the French game companies, though the details of this operation are yet to be made public.
