The second edition of the Startup Career Launchpad is set to take-off on April 18-19th in London. Organized by NACUE, the UK’s principal association for college and university entrepreneurs, and supported by the BVCA, the conference aims to bring together the European startup community in an effort to “connect the biggest names in entrepreneurship, investment and startups with some of the brightest minds across the UK.” Although just starting last year, the buzz has already started about Launchpad, due to its successful first edition which put startups front and center throughout the event and also included notable speakers from Google, Accel Partners, etc. Given its successful first round, the organizers decided to lengthen the conference this year from one to two days, double the number of attendees, and broaden the scope of the event by adding significantly more workshops, topics, and speakers.
This years edition will organize each day around two themes. Day 1, titled ‘The Startup Agenda’, will have over 40 speakers and will be all about understanding the current startup landscape. Some of the key speakers on this day include MindCandy founder Michael Acton Smith and Lastminute.com founder Martha Lane-Fox. In addition to highlighting innovation from other markets, there will also be a strong presence of London-based startups, offering a great opportunity to learn more about what’s going on in ‘Tech City’ and share learnings between different city/market ecosystems. Day 2, titled ‘Start Career Launchpad’, is a bit closer to NACUE’s roots as it looks to convey to attendees what it’s like to work in a startup through a series of interactive workshops, talks, and panels. Our very own Liam Boogar will be moderating on both days, leading a panel on day 1 and doing a fireside chat interview on day 2.
Of course another terrific thing about this conference is the price. As NACUE very much wants the conference to be accessible to as many participants in the ecosystem as possible, they’ve set the two-day early bird price at just £45 (€52) and one day at £25 (€29). The early bird rates will only run through March 28th, so make sure to register here asap.
We’ve also got one free ticket to give away too, so if you want to win it, like this article on our Facebook page.
