AngelHack is back in Paris following on its highly successful edition last December at which Lugga.me, Cubes and TheGoodsLife took first, second and third place respectively. The last AngelHack Paris saw 165 participants join who churned out 41 different projects. The organizing team, which includes Whyd’s Adrien Joly and dok.io’s Sebastien de Lavison and Vianney Lecroart, are looking to top that this go around.
For those unfamiliar with AngelHack, it is the biggest hacker competition in the world which includes a series of massive hackathons across 30 cities. The big news this time around is that AngelHack’s first place prize will not only include a trip to Silicon Valley to meet the top names in tech as well as the opportunity to pitch at Global Demo Day, but will also include a spot in their 3 month Accelerator program, which will get winners from ‘Hack to Startup’. Upon joining the accelerator program, the winning team will work with local mentors to get ready for their 10-day Silicon Valley trip and Global Demo Day pitch in September. There will also be spot prizes on hand for runner-up teams which include everything from XBoxes to Cash.
Participating in and, of course, winning AngelHack is not only a big deal because of the invaluable feedback, coaching, and exposure it brings, but also because winning AngelHack has helped teams go on to top accelerators and incubators such as TechStars and Y-Combinator.
If you want to take that idea you’ve been bouncing around and hack it out at one of the top hackathons around, don’t miss AngelHack this weekend. We’ve got a 50% discount on tickets using the code RUDEHACK (brings ticket price to just $25), so if you want to join, get your tickets here.
