ICT Spring Europe, which will bring together 3500 attendees from over 60 countries, has set as its theme for this year ‘Pure Innovation’, putting the spotlight the latest ICT solutions from both startups and established companies.
Great visibility for startups
ICT Spring strives each year to bridge the gap between coporates and startups largely by giving each ample opportunity to showcase to the other what they do. One aspect of ICT Spring’s program that sets it apart from many other conferences is their exhibition at which 120 startups are selected to exhibit on the day free of charge. In addition, they also have an awards contest at which they select ‘The European Startup of the Year’, which goes to a European company less than 5-years old for its ‘innovation, dynamism, influence and growth potential in the near future’. Last year’s competition had 85 entries, including French startups Mailjet, Shiroube, and Mobilytrip, with the top honors going to Belgian startup TagTagCity and 2nd and 3rd to German startups ParStream and Waymate. To select the winner they cast a very wide net as they select 100 key members of Europe’s ICT space (including European CIOs, ICT media & bloggers, entrepreneurs etc) to select the winner. If you’d like to apply, you can get more information here. The deadline to apply is May 18th.
Big names, innovative topics the agenda
This year’s edition will have some really big names in the spotlight, including Twitter cofounder Biz Stone, Optimizely CEO and former Director of Analytics for the Obama Campaign Dan Siroker, Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins, SugarSync CEO Laura Yecies, and Eventbrite Cofounder and CTO Renaud Visage. The topics they’ll be tackling during the conference will focus squarely on the top innovation topics of the day including the Internet of Everything, Lifestyle Revolutions, Gaming: Beyond Entertainment, and an area of IT services where Luxembourg is particularly strong, Leading Action Security.
