Paymill announced today an integration with e-commerce platform Shopify, which has helped more than 50,000 merchants sell products. The integration will allow Shopify users (merchants) the choice of using Paymill (in addition to other online payments options) to manage payments via Paymill. Paymill’s online payments system has been spreading across Europe like wildfire after the service launched in June 2012. The company’s goal is to not be seen – that is to say, to create a seamless payments experience for online shoppers.

“Customer convenience is key and therefore Shopify is a perfect match for us. The amount of customer requests concerning an integration with Shopify was overwhelming  and we are truly happy that we can satisfy this demand from now on.“ – Jörg Sutara, CMO Paymill

Paymill has been making quite a bit of noise since its launch in France at the beginning of this year. Having picked up ex-Paypal employee Corentin Guillemard, they’ve been very present at startup & developer events, with their office based out of Paris incubator 50Partners. Despite local competitors like MangoPay and global players like Paypal, Paymill has managed to find its proper place in front of a market that is looking for simplicity.

Today, Paymill accepts more than 100 currencies, has a developer-friendly API, and a pricing plan that makes it easy for startups to implement it. In addition, since Paymill sits in the background on your website, you don’t have to worry about conversion funnel loss with users being redirected to 3rd party sites like with Paypal.
