Geeklist will again be holding its mega, global event where the focus is to Hack a better world™. This edition of Hack4good, aka #Hack4Good 0.5, will welcome 5k developers working in tandem across 50 cities around the world on February 7th – 9th.
Hack4good has quickly grown into a global hacker movement with 3 editions alone taking place over the last few months, including the very successful Hack4good Philippines organized in direct response to the devastating Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). The Hack4good events have demonstrated the positive impact that tech applications can have on helping to eradicate many of the world’s most pressing social challenges. Check-out some of the hacks coming out of previous editions here.
The success of Hack4good has been an important part of drawing other import stakeholders into the movement, including NGOs, CEOs, media, non-profits, etc. In fact, the organizing team have seen an increasing number of key NGOs and non-profits partner with them in this effort, including organizations such as Amnesty International, Oxfam, Global Fund, GOAL Ireland, UN OCHA, and NPR Labs.
All are welcome to join, so if you’d like to take part in your city, sign-up here. As keeping ‘Hack4good-a-thons’ running smoothly is no small undertaking, they also need lots of energetic volunteers. So if you’d like to get involved, email the team here hack4good@geekli.st.
