Having achieved rapid international success with their social planning app and raised a 130k euro seed round last November, Le Camping alum WePopp is ramping up their growth in the US market with the announcement of their integration with OpenTable, one of the global leaders in online and mobile restaurant reservations. The US has been a very strong market for WePopp thus far where they’ve been effectively competing with, and arguably beating, their well-funded ($1 million) rival Rundavoo. In addition to OpenTable’s US iOS version, they will also integrate with OpenTable in Germany and Japan.
In addition to OpenTable, they’ve also announced integrations with TopTable in the UK and LaFourchette in France and Spain.
One of the things that has made WePopp so successful and will continue to fuel their growth is that everyone who is invited into a group to join a social event doesn’t need to be a user. If an invitee doesn’t have the WePopp app on their phone they receive a SMS alert and can respond and/or vote using a browser based version.
In speaking about their new service integrations, Cofounder and CEO Julien Hobeika adds:
“These integrations with LaFourchette, OpenTable and TopTable will allow WePopp to maintain its worldwide leadership in social planning. We will continue to work on our recommendation system and integrate with more partners in order to suggest the restaurants you are most likely to enjoy when you don’t have a specific idea of what you want to do”
The new iOS version of WePopp integrating OpenTable, LaFourchette and TopTable is available starting today on the App Store.
