Marketplace & Crowdfunding platform payment solution MangoPay has announced a partnership with cloud currency engine Currency Cloud that will the former to offer better rates to clients who wish to convert currency and accept clients from around the world.
Mangopay, a product built by Leetchi, has enabled over 200 platforms – marketplaces & other crowdfunding platforms – to handle money since its launch in 2013, prompting them to launch internationally this past February. The product is enabled by a European-wide money-handling license that Leetchi’s Luxembourg subsidiary Leetchi Corp obtained in 2013, a core component in their internationalization strategy.
Speaking with MangoPay’s CEO Romain Mazeries, he spoke of how the company’s new partnerships has allowed them to close larger contracts due to their ability to offer better rates when accepting foreign currencies.
On the matter, Currency Cloud CCO John Hammond spoke of the deal as a growing part of Currency Cloud’s business, stating that MangoPay is the 3rd payments provider focused on marketplaces that they’ve begun working with.
