Although slower to take-off, the momentum of the Edutech sector continues to accelerate in France and across Europe. Coming off the recent announcement of Kartable’s €1.2 round just a couple of weeks ago, Coorpacademy, which launched just 18 months ago and counts ex-Google France president Jean-Marc Tassetto as one of their cofounders, have just closed a €3.2 million series A round with French fund NextStage and Swiss private equity fund Debiopharm Investment.

Coorpacademy is an online training platform for enterprises. It is essence a MOOC (or, given their enterprise focus, a ‘COOC‘) that leverages gamification and social learning to offer more innovative content and training solutions which are also better adapted to enterprises. During its development, Coorpacademy was also able to draw-on the best innovations, thinking and learning techniques  from the academic world having been incubated at the Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) university, one of the heavyweights in the MOOC space.

Coorpacademy has been a big success thus far, with 200k people on their platform, big clients such as Société Générale, SFR, and Pernod Ricard on board, and an expected €2 million revenues for their first year. The team will leverage their new investment to scale-up their largely Paris-based team from 15 to 45 by end-2015 and, via a partnership approach, expand into new markets such as Germany and the UK.
