France’s ad tech sector continues to shine bright.  After Social Moov was bought by US ad tech giant Marin Software late last month for close to 20 million euros, now comes news that NASDAQ listed, Israeli company Perion has bought Make Me Reach, a deal estimated at between 10 to 20 million euros. Make Me Reach’s principal investors were Alven Capital and Siparex, who owned approximately 60%, with cofounder Pierre-François Chiron holding approximately 25%.
While the acquisition will undoubtedly help the startup scale up more quickly internationally and leverage Perion’s expertise in mobile, Chiron stressed that what Make Me Reach brings to Perion is highly complementary and, as a result, Make Me Reach’s entire team, including the management team, will remain in place.  In addition, Perion has been looking to access the European market and bringing Make Me Reach on-board, who generate 60% of their sales in Belgium, Italy, Spain and Portugal, will help to ease their entry into the European market.
Profitable since last year, the vast majority of Make Me Reach’s sales come from their AdsOptim self-service ad platform where clients can launch, manage and track their own campaigns. The remainder comes from large groups, such as Meetic or Interflora, for which they do customize campaign management, tracking and analysis.
