Lucky Cart, the specialist in Promogaming, announced today on Frenchweb that they’ve closed a 1.6 million euro round with five funds, namely Partech Ventures, Kima Ventures, Pléiade Venture, Fa Diese and Edenred. With this new round, Cyril Marchal is looking first of all to build out his commercial team in order to solidify their position in France and expand across Europe. Next, they also plan to invest in additional product improvements, including a SaaS platform which will enable online vendors to create their own promogaming campaigns.
Lucy Cart seeks to offer online vendors an alternative solution for engaging their customers. More specifically, the way it works is that instead of allocating part of their marketing budget to rebates, e-merchants can instead put these funds towards games which customers can play to get the value of their shopping carts back. What they’ve found in their experience is that when online shoppers are offered the choice between a small rebate (say 10%) on a purchase or the chance to play a game and win the equivalent value of their shopping cart, they choose the game. Several big names already use Lucky Cart, including CS Discount and PriceMinister-Rakuten.
