Awox, a connected hardware startup providing middleware enabling consumer electronics to communicate with each other, has announced that they will IPO in Paris on April 22nd – they are expected to raise €17 Million in the process. The company, founded in 2003 by Eric Lavigne & Alain Molinie, provides white-label solutions to OEMs, as well as a its own Striim line of products, including connected lighting, connected audio, connected video & more.
Awox previously raised €4 Million from CM-CIC, Bnp Paribas, Innovacom & soridec in 2008 (via Crunchbase), but has otherwise been building revenue over the past 6 years.
As Europe looks to create a startup-friendly public market for IPOs, it is clear that, while London has its strengths, hardware is not one of them – the analysts, the expertise & the companies lie in France.
