As Mobile’s biggest week wraps up in Barcelona (check our daily recaps here & here), Connected Conference, taking place May 28th-30th in Paris, is only just getting started. We’re excited to add 10 new speakers & partners to our line-up. Worldclass leaders in the Internet-Enabled Hardware space are coming to Connected Conference, and today we’re excited to announce a handful of those speakers:
Lionel Paillet – Nest
In the very first few days working for Nest as the European head, Lionel learned from news reporters that the small startup he had just joined had been acquired for $3.2 Billion by Google. Since then, the past 16 months have been a rollercoaster. The European team has grown, partnerships abound throughout Europe, and Works with Nest, the company’s integrations hub, has opened Nest up to compatibility with 100+ devices.
Frederic Lintz: Elium Studio – Designer Associate
Behind every great hardware product, there is an even greater product designer. Whether it be a growing startup like Withings, a crowdfunding campaign like Electric Mood, or established brands like Technicolor, Elium has worked with France’s top hardware companies, and has built a reputation in recent years for their work on Connected Hardware. Frederic Lintz joins Connected Conference to look at connected hardware through a design lens.
A truly European Hardware Event
Connected Conference will be bringing together 1,000 professionals from 25 different countries, and we keep adding new partners from all over the planet to make sure that we don’t just bring you the best of France, but the best connected hardware from around the world.
The Hardware Club (Paris)
We’ve been big fans of The Hardware Club since, well, before they even existed. The prestigious club for hardware entrepreneurs calls many of this year’s Connected Conference speakers members – in fact, it’s hard to find great Hardware startup founders who aren’t in The Hardware Club. The Hardware Club is an Event Partner of Connected Conference, and we’ll be announcing in the coming weeks a series of talks that co-founder Barbara Belvisi will be organizing during Connected Conference around startup growth, funding (crowd- and venture) and manufacturing!
Hardware.co (Berlin)
Easily the heart of Berlin’s Hardware scene, Hardware.co has brought together key players in the hardware space, like electronics supplier Conrad, around events, an accelerator, and a hardware lab. The community has quickly grown to become a recognized player in the connected hardware scene.
Startupbootcamp (Eindhoven/Barcelona)
One of Europe’s leading accelerators, Startupbootcamp has been betting big on IoT for years, with their dedicated IoT accelerator in Barcelona. We’re happy to team up with Startupbootcamp, and hope to show off some of their alumni and current companies during Connected Conference!
Startups.be (Brussels)
In 2015, the Belgian Startup Community has seen a big spurt of growth in the past 18 months, in part due to the presence of Tech.eu’s Robin Wauters, who has been helping the ecosystem produce a startup manifesto, in part due to the European Commission’s increasing role in EU regulation for startups. We’re excited to welcome Startups.be as a supporter of Connected Conference!
